With the convenience of Epicor Kinetic Cloud comes a regular scheduled update window, on a relatively fixed cadence unrelated to your other business activities.

Our test suite is aimed at that window, slashing the staff time needed to confirm that nothing crucial is going to break.

What it does

Typically, Epicor updates or upgrades the non-production environments some weeks before the live ones. In that time it is your responsibility to test all non-standard functionality to ensure it doesn't break.

We speed up this process by automating as much of it as practical. Specific repeatable tests are created for:

• Custom BAQs
• Menu items opening non-standard screens or screen customisations
• BPMs
• Non-standard SSRS reports

With your assistance we prioritise these and tailor any requirements, then under controlled conditions run tests producing hard data on what succeeds and what fails, with failure modes.

What you get

You receive a professional report, documenting:

• Whether the BAQs execute successfully
• A verified list of active BPMs
• Whether customised screens open and load correctly
• Whether selected reports generate successfully

For any failures, the report includes identification of the issue and the failure mode reported.

Optionally, SSRS report outputs can be automatically sent to designated recipients as part of the test run, for visual validation.

Outcomes

This does not replace user testing and approval.

But armed with these lists and the results of automated testing, you can target testing and prioritise far more effectively, saving valuable staff time, effort and distraction from normal business. You gain confidence in the process, and your most valuable company resources back.
